3. TV Actors Going into Film, then Coming Full Circle

I know I've forgotten loads of others in this post and the last 2, (Seth Rogen, Possibly Steve Carrell, all the breakthrough talents from SNL, Jason Segal etc etc etc) but Shhh! Anyway here is a list of those who started in humble beginnings, and have now comne back around to pay tribute to their roots.
Part 3:

Claire Danes

Originally the precocious teen lead in My So Called Life,  Danes went off and did the film thing for a number of years. She's finally come back though, in terrorist drama Homeland

Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen had small parts in a LOT of shows before he made it into iconic films such as Badlands. I mean a LOT. Seriously, check on imdb. Nonetheless, the role that I think defines him is on his return to TV, as President Bartlett in The West Wing

Robert Carlyle

Trainspotting, The Full Monty, The World Is Not Enough, Angela's Ashes, The 51st State. Carlyle has stacked up a nice chance of films. He's now moved on to TV, and with Stargate:Universe wrapped up, he's currently on Once Upon a Time. Its almost enough to make you forget he started out life on Hamish Macbeth

Natascha McElhone

The gorgeous McElhone has always stood just outside the spotlight. She was in a number of British shows early in her career, before stepping into the film world. She's back now, but on US tellies instead, as Karen, the ever suffering girlfriend of Hank Moody in the hilariously puerile Californication

Lucy Liu

Ally McBeal launched her career, as office bitch Ling Woo in Ally McBeal. An Emmy nomination got her on the Hollywood gravy train in fodder such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She's back on TV screens now, in the new US remake of Sherlock Holmes, called 'Elementary'

Danny DeVito

Danny Devito had a random string of bit appearances to his name before he struck fame in the form of the sitcom Taxi. Since then he's starred in dozens of films alongside a roster of Hollywood A-listers. In the last several years, he's moved back to television, starring in the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

2. TV Stars who went on to be Big Hollywood Film Actors

So after the last list, this basically the same thing in reverse. Part 2: Hollywood stars who first got their start with humble TV beginnings

Jessica Biel

So sexy it's probably not even legal, Jessica Biel is equally hot property in Hollywood at the moment. She rose to fame as Mary Camden in 7th Heaven, and amusingly, she decided to leave the show because of her perceived 'goody goody' image. Believe me, nobody's thinking that now

Jennifer Garner

Before Starring in films as diverse as Pearl Harbour, 13 going on 30, and the Kingdom, Garner was first, and arguably still best known for Alias. The show itself is so good and so important in the modern evolution of TV, its going to be getting its own post soon. Watch this space!

Jessica Alba

Alba is another one following the basic trend, that if you're beautiful and on TV, you have a shot at the big time. Obviously James Cameron knew what he was doing when he cast her in his short lived TV series Dark Angel, and bland Hollywood blockbusters proceeded

Johnny Depp

With the silly comedy remake recently, its easy to forget that 80s Police show 21 Jump Street did actually take itself seriously. It also facilitated Johnny Depp's rise to prominence, and cinema has been all the better for it. A wonderfully diverse actor.

George Clooney

Perhaps the greatest story ever of a TV actor becoming a Hollywood great. Clooney rose to stardom off of his role in the excellent medical drama ER, as Dr Doug Ross. As a treat to fans, he slashed his fee and returned to the show, and his character, in its final season, marking the first time he had been on television in 9 years

Jennifer Anniston

I suppose this goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Rachel from Friends went on to carve a mediocre career involving various romcoms.

Bryan Cranston

Cranston had been around the TV circuit for a while, most notably as Jerry Seinfeld's dentist, but his big break came with Malcolm in the Middle. As it happens, being type cast in the role of mild-manner-dad almost ruined his career, but after some execs took a chance on him in Breaking Bad, he;s slowly started filtering into bigger and bigger films: Drive, Total Recall, and Rock of Ages to name a few

Katherine Heigl

Credit has to be given to Heigl: she's worked her way up. She was most prominent in teen series Roswell, which led to her bagging a role Grey's Anatomy. Fame quickly followed, and although her standard shtick is in much the same ballpark as Anniston, I give Heigl more credit simply because she had less to work with. Anniston was wildly popular...she should've done more

Taylor Kitsch

Hollywood are calling it "The curse of Taylor Kitsch" and you can see why.Starting out life as Tim Riggins in Peter Berg's Friday Night Lights, he was somehow chosen for success by the Hollywood powers that be. Unfortunately John Carter flopped massively, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Battleship were met with negative reviews. Hopefully The Savages will turn his luck around

Will Smith

With hiccups like the Men in Black films aside, in general Smith's output is of a very high calibre, and he's proved more than once that he's a great actor. It almost seems a million years ago that he played the Fresh Prince of Belair. Given his excellent comic timing, its a shame he's not in more comedies

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Welsh Actress Zeta Jones pops up regularly on the silver screen these days, but before she was off being Zorro's lady, she had a role in the quaint little British series The Darling Buds of May

Honourable mentions: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock from the Sun), Patrick Dempsey (Greys Anatomy), Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Christine Ricci (Pan Am)

1. Hollywood Film Actors now doing TV shows

I've had a browse recently over the old boxsets of Buck Rogers. All I can say is... TV has come a LONG way. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks so. More and more film actors are realising the high quality stories that can now be told on a TV budget. As I researched into this, the way people flip flop from films to TV astounded me. Enough so that this is now going to be the first in a series of 3 posts.
So here we go, Part 1: A list of Hollywood players, that have given up celluloid for small screen glory.

James Caan

The Godfather, Thief, El Dorado.. the man's been in some big films. He finally took the plunge in 2003 to start in TV series Las Vegas as casino owner Ed Deline. He has stated numerous times that he loved the show, but his decision to leave was based on the fact that a full time TV show was leaving no time for him to continue his film career.

Ron Perlman

This is one of those guys who's has been in more films than you'll ever remember, but so rarely does he get the lead that he's often forgotten. Alien Resurrection, Hellboy, Enemy at The Gates, Star Trek Nemesis to name a few. Whilst he lent himself to cameo Voices on TV, he didn't get in the game until 2008 in Sons of Anarchy, where he now plays Biker gang member Clay Morrow

Donald Sutherland

The dirty dozen, MASH, Invasion of the Body snatchers, even the original Buffy movie: It seems Big Don has been in everything. Like a lot of guys on this list, as his film career has winded down, another opened up on TV. His last full series was Dirty Sexy Money, but he's been in a few miniseries since, notably The Pillars of the Earth

Kiefer Sutherland

Like father, like son I guess. Kiefer has become so linked to 24's antihero Jack Bauer that its easy to forget that he used to be films only. Everything from Stand by Me to Young Guns, and Dark City. He's currently back on TV, in a show called Touch with another film actor not on this list, Danny Glover

Steve Buscemi

Buscemi is something of an Indie favourite, ending up in well received fare such as Reservoir Dogs, Desperado and Ghost World, as well as Hollywood spectacles such as Con Air, Armageddon, and [too] many Adam Sandler films. He's now seen on HBO's Boardwalk Empire

Jason Lee

He used to be in simple comedies like Mallrats, before making the leap to more popular flicks such as Heartbreakers, A Guy Thing and Almost Famous. When he started on TV show My Name is Earl, he was vocal about the fact that he hadn't been convinced about TV, but the script changed his whole perspective, forcing him to re-assess his view on which medium could produce the better drama. He's stuck with this ethos: he's currently playing a cop on Memphis Beat

Kat Dennings

This is one I simply don't understand. With films like Defendor, Nick and Norah, and a sprinkle of Hollywood in the form of Thor, Dennings seemed to be in the ideal position, career-wise. So why she would take on a sitcom as bland, mean, and cheap-looking as 2 Broke Girls, is completely beyond me. I guess some people out there must be liking it though

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey has always been a critics darling. Balancing her time between Hollywood films and more obscure indies, she's carved out a fine career. A suitable addition to it is her recent move to TV sitcom territory, with New Girl, a show which, if anything, can at least claim fantastic production value

Jason Schwartzman

Indie king Schwartzman's move into TV, is onto a show that displays the same themes as most of his films. A pitch black sense of humour, slapstick juxtaposed with melancholy, angst, insecurity and dark undertones. It's called Bored to Death and also stars Zach Galifianakis from the Hangover

Kevin Bacon

Bacon is one of the hardest workers in Hollywood, and has amassed quite a back catalogue of films. He's also made the move to TV, with an upcoming FBI serial killer show, called The Following

Dennis Quaid

Randy's chiseled brother, Dennis has been in classic films such as The Rookie and Inner Space, as well as more modern hits like Vantage Point and The Day After Tomorrow. He's soon to star in Vegas, a 60s set crime drama about a local sheriff, which also starts the Matrix's Carrie-Anne Moss.

Don Cheadle

A character actor who I wouldn't say has quite made the lead to leading man, certainly not solo. Its a shame, because he's wracked up an impressive Filmography, and is a very versatile actor. He's currently in House of Lies with the former Veronica Mars

Elijah Wood

Frodo the Green street Hooligan is currently on a show about an imaginary Dog. Yes seriously. Its from Australia apparently.

Honourable mentions: Jonah Hill (Allen Gregory), Sam Neil (Hapy Town, Alkatraz), Paminder Nagra (ER), Ed Helms (The Office),  Harvey Keitel (Life on Mars US)

Top 6 Sneakers Inspired by Films and TV

No intro needed with this one really

6. Flintstones Big Nikes

These come in two varieties, one for Fred, one for Dino. The Flinstones is one of my favourite cartoons, and one dam fine sitcom, so these are really cool.

5. Reebok Tron Legacy Pumps

I like the tron 'player' patches, but overall there's something a bit mish-mashed about these. Nonetheless, they're sure to be a must for geeks

4. Nike Batman Custom Dunks

The best thing about these is that they follow the scheme from the old comics and the Adam West Batman. Classic, understated, and all the cooler for it.

3. Adidas Luke Skywalkers
Bright and distinct, they also match the flight suit colour combination for the Rebel Alliance

2. Iron Man Nike Air Force 1s
One look at these, and you can immediately tell what they represent. That's what I love. They're basically just a normal AF1...but thanks to the colours, they're so much more

1. Nike Air Mag AKA  the "Marty McFly"
The epitome of cool, combining elements of the DeLoreon's time circuits with the self-tying shoes Marty wears in the future. Unfortunately they were very limited edition, which makes them ludicrously expensive. Ah... one can dream
